Besides Alan Shore, who do you find most endearing?
For me it's: Mr. Grey Daniel Jackson The Man in "Driftwood" Ray Reardon Max Baron Graham Dalton Stevenson Lowe Julian Rome Daniel Ellsberg John Parker Joel Campbell
This is just off the top off my head.

Max and Stevenson each have romantic qualities that I find endearing, but my main man is Daniel Jackson.

With what I've seen so far, I'm with you girls on Mr. Grey, Max, and Daniel Jackson. Daniel probably being at the top of my list too... as far as endearment goes. Love 'em to pieces <3

As you said, besides Alan Shore:
Daniel is tops on my list.
E. Edward Grey...just love him, he is so messed up until he accepts himself as he is.
Max Baron...just sooooo gorgeous and a sweetie at heart.
John Parker...I just love James as this sweet but macho guy.
Graham Dalton...confused, but a really good guy at heart. (LOL...the first time I saw this movie I thought Graham was going to turn out to be a psycho killer or something. Goodness how perceptions change over time!)

Here are two I forgot in the foggy brain of early morning. John Westford - the cutie-pie doctor in Jack's Back and Joey Callaghan in Starcrossed. Both good-guys that are endearing, and yes, Daniel Jackson is still number one.

This may come late, but i am currently watching "Supernova". It is not a great film, but i must confess that i find James' character Vinz rather endearing. After watching Secretary, TP and BL + the Office almost in a row, this short haired, dark, so far quite one dimensional and certainly very forward character feels quite refreshing, Here we have no quirkiness, no irony, no hidden sensitivity so far, just straightforward masculinity and physical beauty. That is not a side of the actor, that i have noticed before, and as told, i find it quite refreshing, and i feel like the equivalent of a man admiring a young woman in a short skift:- The sight of him in this movie is a real guilty pleasure, when i feel for something uncomplicated - that is, as uncomplicated as it gets, when it is a James Spader-character. By the way - i love your site, and the collage of images on the front page is extraordinary!

He's certainly a work of art in that movie. I also couldn't help but find him endearing from the very first conversation and staggering eye contact he had with Dr. Evers...to when he was playing cards and smiled sweetly saying he wasn't going to tattle on Benj...straight through toward the end when he fought for everyone. He was definitely very masculine/tough in this but very selfless and sweet all the same. Thank you!

Hi Amy - so nice to hear from you.
I just saw the whole movie. The movie is in deed very bad - I am non-native speaking, but the word "corny" falls into my mind. The eye-thing in the end was just too too much ;D But during the movie i noticed just what you say: the Spaderesque tiny moves, that shows, that Spader is much above this character: a raised eyebrow, a quick eyeglanze and a halfsmile...I hope, he had a good time filming this movie. For a very serious actor, i imagine a part like this is like a vacation or at least less emotionally exhausting than more psykologically complex roles. I think, this movie will remain a gulity pleasure, and that i will use the stop and fast forward-buttons quite a lot next time. But i am smiling now, so it cant be all bad :-) Have a nice day...

^"Corny" is a great word for the very end, yes. Hehe. But it's indeed worthy of watching again, just to gawk at James' beauty and essence. And thus, it is becoming part of my DVD collection. ;P
Putting emotional stamina of a role aside...James had to at least feel awesome playing this one, after all the exercise he did. Can't go wrong with a body like that!!

Bless your heart, Amy, for starting this thread. I just saw Crash, and that was nauseating to say the least (probably following the directors vision). So i really need to think of an endearing Spader-character fast in order to erase the memory of James Ballard and friends...
I will follow the advice and tips on this thread and think of Graham, Daniel and Stevenson for a god, long while...

^It was actually spaderific who started this lovely thread Haha...and I know what you mean about Crash. I typically love odd, eccentric movies that are out of the norm and really push the envelope...but Crash was just...ick. Certainly there were some sexy Spader moments - but overall the movie was just no good to me. You definitely want to shake off that energy when you're done watching it. At least I did!

Oh sorry, Spaderific... Since the last time i saw "2 days in the valley" and "Speaking of sex" and that did it to me. And Crash: there were some porn scenes, but sexy - in the term erotic or arousing - they were not: at least not in a good way. The "sex on the couch" scene from White Palace, "The ice cubes scene" from 2days or even the "Beat James Spader" scene from Secretary is more to my taste...
