Sadly, this program is simply not my cup of tea. Saddest of all, James character on this show did not change my feelings.

The intensity level of the character was really dialed back for this first episode. It was great seeing James, but the writers need to give him better dialogue and situations. The introduction of Alan Shore on The Practice was like getting hit by lightning; the intro of Robert California was more like getting hit by a soft rain.

Sadly, this program is simply not my cup of tea. Saddest of all, James character on this show did not change my feelings. That IS sad! Maybe you will grow to like it? I think James' character is going to be one that will have to grow on some people. Although I understand if the show just isn't your thing. It definitely has it's own taste of awkward humor that only some people can really appreciate. To each their own! It was great seeing James, but the writers need to give him better dialogue and situations. The introduction of Alan Shore on The Practice was like getting hit by lightning; the intro of Robert California was more like getting hit by a soft rain. I'm sure the writers have plenty of awesome material awaiting us! I still rather loved the first episode. While I agree that Alan Shore's character entered with more of a bang - it's just a different ballgame with The Office. Robert California is meant to be a powerful presence but in a more subtle way...if that makes sense. He's also part of a bigger team effort, which doesn't require all the focus to be on him. Still, we've only barely began to scratch at the surface and as I said I think there will be plenty of awesomeness to come from the writers and James. I'll be looking forward to it every week!
